Kevin´s new home

Design of Kevin’s new apartment

Januar 2007
Leeds/England

Joachim Eckl met Kevin, the homeless cook during his stay in Leeds where he was part of the project and group of artists “Wochenklausur” in 2006. He procured him an employment as a cook at the homeless shelter “The Crypt” and even won over the celebrity chef Richard Adams to collaborate in the catering order for the “Wochenklausur” farewell party. The basic idea of this project works on the principle: Everybody profits from this cooperation. On the one hand identities are being developed and connected through these experiences having a common anchor point and target. On the other hand gives the appearance of uniqueness rise to a symbol of humanity and the playful opportunities of life. Kevin and Richard were cooking together many times subsequently. The response by the media was amazing. Shortly afterwards he found his own apartment and designed it with the help of Joachim Eckl and friends according to his ideas. Joachim Eckl invited all those involved to dine toghether at “Harvey Nichols” where Richard Adams works as a cook.
