Performance/social experiment with 12 stones and 12 potatoes (called “apples of the earth” in German).

The University of Farnham invited Joachim Eckl as speaker and performance artist once more to the international study day and an evening of live interventions investigating the interplay between performance art and other mediums. This event brings together international artists, academics and UCA students using performative tactics within their practice. With Rasha Ragab (Egypt) - Joachim Eckl (Austria) - Christoph Nicholaus (Germany) Marcus Kaiser (Germany) - Peter Finnemore (Wales) - Amanda Couch (London) Emmanuelle Waeckerlé (UK/Fr) - Petri Huurinainen (Finland/UK) – Sebastian Lexer (Germany/UK) - and UCA Students

Process in 12 steps:

1. Circle of forms – display of forms, circular form of 12 plaster moulds – language forms from A to L

2. Encirclement – chalk drawing, circular horizon

3. Pairs – M to Z – pairs of twins, form and nature – Estimating placement of 6 potatoes and 6 stones in relation to the insides of the forms

4. Aspiration – pollination with water and breath (H2O+CO2), mouth-fountain of the pairs

5. Nidation – defining of the pairs , nest forms, chalk drawing

6. Harmony – pendulum of 2 sounds, one tone, sound-fusion

7. Development (entwining) – Development of strings from the centre as wavy line around the nests

8. Play of forces (Step by step) – By pulling pulsingly the forces that are directed outwards and inwards at the same time, create a lively chaos.

9. Order – lay down the 12 bags in one line

10. Estimating placement of the first pair of twins of forms on the bags

11. Pour water in a pan and place it on the stove

12. Request of arranging the elements in a mutual action as long as some water is left - General impulse of creation with the aim of a collaborative inherent dynamic of creation as original and final image of the action.
