Starting out with the idea that we all are living in a temoporary given space of reality, we can understand ourselves as hotel guests in different places and stops. The fact that all of our living space is being staged by furnishing creates different sensitivities which give direction to our perceptions and thus influence our handling of the world.

"A hotel-room is looking for a new home"

This five-star hotel room comes from the Park-Hilton in Vienna. Room No. 437 was purchased and dismantled by the Austrian artist Joachim Eckl together with 6 further Hilton hotel rooms in 2003. Since then Eckl rebuilt these rooms at different places and used them as “impulse – and possibility spaces” in different ways.

We’re now starting into the the next level: Room No. 437 is given away and offered as „free space with history“.

If you want to have the room, just write a guestbook entry or send an e-mail to meinhiltonzimmer@heimart.at describing your idea or reason for usage and why you would like to have it. All ideas of usage will be exhibited in the room in August. The room itself will be given away to the “best idea or reason”. What is left is a “space for ideas”. The Hilton hotel-room will be used in the glass pavilion in August in different ways as “guest-room”, meeting point and stage under the title “Room available”.
