A River to River project

The element of water is the primordial element of human interaction. This element and the rivers along which people live play a decisive and connecting role in the River to River projects working as a cultural bridge. Within the habitat of rivers and involved people from Africa, the Czech Republic and Austria different cultures and a mutual relation to water determine the social manners.

Mutual drawing and flowing of water becomes the expression of a common world – and life-spirit.

The students of the grammar school Neufelden visited “Die Station” in Neufelden on the 13th of May 2009. The artist Joachim Eckl gave them an introduction to the creative work dealing with water. After that all students were part of the water-drawing project in the river “Große Mühl”. They took the bailed water to the Czech Republic on the 19th of May 2009 to let the river “Große Mühl” flow into the Moldova. In doing so the group of pupils crossed the central European watershed.
