One of the basic concerns of Werkstatt Kollerschlag is to produce objects not just for the traditional 'protected zones' such as museums, galleries and private collections but to also establish sculptures and installations in public space. The approach of Werkstatt Kollerschlag is based on the collaboration of artists and architects already in the planning stage so as ensure that art and construction relate naturally.

Joachim Eckl was employed on the basis of a contract for work at Werkstatt Kollerschlag between 1991 and 1994 and implemented amongst others projects by Jeff Koons and Klaus Rinke.
